Mangawhai Heads: Day 11

We woke up excited to try out some new surf spots! We checked out Mangawhai heads (the closest surf spot) and it didn’t look promising, so we decided to head out for the other spot about a 30min drive through pastures and farms on a gravel road and through the woods.  It was called "Forestry" and it was a really cool adventure to get there! When we finally arrived, the scenery was so gorgeous and the surf looked a bit intimidating to me. We planned to return early the next morning with a picnic. The next morning, Colin paddled out first to test out where we would sit and I was happy to sit on the beach taking in the movement of the lineup and where it seemed I might want to surf. After a while, Colin came out of the water and we paddled out together.

I still didn’t catch much and I was feeling kind of frustrated. So we left kind of early. Colin found a super big green moth at the cottage! I thought it was a leaf on the ground!!!
